4つの大陸プレートが出合う
この火山列島の山々の本体は「磐座」です。
磐座に浸み入る天水（てんすい）が川を潤し、
豊かな伏流水となって大地を涵養し、
海から湧き出でます。
私たちの身体そのものである水、大地。

それらを育んできた火山列島の構造が「流域」です。

この列島のお山のひとつである、中国地方最高峰の大山（だいせん）は、古くは奈良・金峯山や和歌山・熊野山と並ぶ修験の地でした。
奈良時代には山の神と地蔵菩薩が神仏習合で祀られ、江戸時代まで広く尊崇を集めていました。
時を経ても、千数百年間祈りが捧げられてきた大切なお山として、いまも私たちの鏡で在り続けています。

Rainwater seeping into this terrain
nourishes the rivers,
transforms into abundant groundwater flowing beneath the surface
to sustain the land,
and ultimately wells up into the sea.
Water and earth—elements that are one with our own bodies.
The structure of this volcanic archipelago that nurtures them
is the "watershed."

山と私を和えるプロジェクト

山と人、人と人、そして山と山のあいだに、新たな関係を結びたい。

私たちのこの願いを、列島の峰々を歩き、お山の構造を身体化しようと挑戦し続けているのが、大原徹をはじめとする各地の実践者たちです。

大山流域研究所では、彼らの活動の応援につながる、棚田米をはじめとした、お山と流域にまつわる品々を販売いたします。

流域哲学道場「天狗茶屋」

「流域を身体化するプログラム」をはじめ、流域を身体化する哲学を伝える場です。2023年より開催してきた淀江町の海の宿とともに、2026年大山中腹に立つ「天狗茶屋」を改修。ふたつの場を滞在型プログラムの道場として通年開いてまいります。
